System Converts Standard Pipe into High-Volume Conveyor Exair's aluminum 2½ NPT and 3 NPT threaded Line Vac air-operated conveyors are designed to convert ordinary pipe into a conveying system for parts, scrap, trim and other bulk materials. Their larger size enables conveying bigger parts and large volumes of material over long distances, the company says. The product is designed to attach to standard plumbing pipe couplers, allowing users to build a complete system with pipe and fittings available from home centers or hardware stores. The units also are available in smaller sizes to 3/8 NPT, and in Type 303 and Type 316 stainless steel for more demanding high- temperature, corrosive and hygienic environments. Exair Corp. / 800-903-9247 / exair.com Pendulum Hardness Tester Ensures Accurate Results The Elcometer 3045 pendulum hardness tester uses infrared tech- nology to measure coating hardness, providing a fully automated Persoz or König pendulum hardness test without human intervention, ensur- ing more accurate, repeatable and reproducible results. Users fit the pendulum on to the loading pins, load the sample and close the door. The pen- dulum automatically moves to the start position, the sample table rises and the test begins. Maximum sample size is 200 × 110 × 14 mm. The instrument performs a full calibration rou- tine and automatically adjusts to meet the specified standard. Batch memory stores all test data for output to a PC via the company's ElcoMaster data management soƞware. An inte- grated, dual-axis bubble level on the specimen table enables users to quickly identify whether the table is correctly aligned and, if required, adjust the rotating feet at the base of the unit.
