PRODUCTS FINISHING — PFonline.com 9 Hosco Wins Michigan U.S. Small Business Award Hosco Fittings, a Michigan-based manufacturer of finishing system components, received a 2017 Michigan Small Business award from the U.S. Small Business Administration. The award was presented in May at the 13th annual Michigan Celebrates Small Business awards event at the Lansing Center in Lansing. Hosco received the Michigan Small Business Exporter of the Year. Tom Murray, president and CEO of Hosco Fittings, received the award for the company. As part of National Small Business Week, the SBA has been recognizing the special impact made by outstanding American entrepreneurs and small business owners since 1963. "Together with our partners, we honor and celebrate the small business owners who are the backbone of our country's economy," says Constance Logan, SBA Michigan district director. PPG Celebrates 50th Anniversary of Duranar Coatings PPG celebrates the 50th anniversary of Duranar coatings throughout 2017, commemorating the introduction in 1967 of one of the industry's first high-performance polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) coatings for metal building components. Over the past half-century, Duranar coatings have been used to protect some of the world's most recognized architectural landmarks, such as the Empire State Building in New York, the Louvre Pyramid in Paris, Shanghai World Financial Center in China, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. According to the company, PPG has continually refined Duranar coatings since its introduction to meet aesthetic, performance and sustainability demands. Wagner Systems Launches New SC Operations Wagner Systems Inc. announces that it will be launching a new application center operation in Charleston County, South Carolina, expected to be operational by the end of the summer. Representing a capital investment of $2.3 million, the new development aims to lead the creation of more than 30 jobs over the next five years. The new facility will feature full liquid and powder spray booth capabilities including robotic automation as well as adhesive and sealant equipment.
