NASF invites Peter Morici back from last year's forum to discuss trade policy and its outlook for the finishing industry. Morici is one of the nation's top trade and manufacturing policy experts. His experience as forecaster and advisor to Congress and the White House has made him the "go-to" source for the media, business and govern- ment leaders across the globe. Forum Luncheon Keynote | Wednesday, April 26 NASF welcomes Politico founder and media leader Jim VandeHei as the luncheon keynote speaker for the NASF Washington Forum in April. VandeHei is a media entrepreneur and expert on American politics. He has been called "one of the 100 most powerful thinkers of the information age," and is the co-founder, chairman, and CEO of Axios, which means "worthy" in Greek. Its mission statement asserts "Media is broken—and too oƞen a scam." The new media company will focus on delivering news and insights on politics, business, media and technology. In addition to starting Axios, VandeHei was the co-founder and former CEO of Politico, the digital media company that revolutionized political and policy jour- nalism in Washington D.C., New York and Europe. Called a "media phenomenon" by Washingtonian magazine, the all-politics all-the-time site has been a smashing success since its 2006 launch. Lockheed Martin's Scott Fetter to Kick Off SUR/FIN Sustainability Summit Lockheed Martin's Scott Fetter joins NASF at SUR/FIN in Atlanta to kick off the Sustainability Summit in a keynote panel. Fetter has more than 30 years of materials processes, environmental safety and occupational health (ESOH) work experience. Fetter is currently a F-35 ESOH Lead with Lockheed Martin, and has served as the F-35 Air System ESH Integration Lead since the late 1990s. He is also responsible for coating-related systems such as pollution prevention, materials substitution, iden- tification execution and regulatory compliance, including Regulation, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH.) As the staple course of the AESF Foundation education program, this course will provide students with a broad range of information related to the fundamentals of electroplating, methods of preparing parts for surface finishing, and an understanding of a wide variety of electroplating and other finishing processes. Passing the exam for this course earns the test-taker the Certified Electroplater Finisher (CEF) credential and is a requirement to obtain Master Surface Finisher (MSF) certification.
