(Lima, Ohio) appointed Jon Barrett as global vice president and chief operating oficer. In his new role, Barrett will manage business support services and oversee global opera- tional management. MetoKote also hired John Shafer as global VP of sales. In his new role, Shafer will manage the commercial organiza- tion, oversee growth development in several key markets and will report directly to President and CEO Jefrey Oravitz. Graymills Corp. (Chicago) received the 2015 Manufacturer of the Year award from the Illinois Alliance for Industry and Manu- facturing at the Making Manufacturing Matter dinner in Chicago. The Manufacturer of the Year award is given for extended com- mitment to Illinois and long-term assistance to the economy, local residents and the state. Thermal Product Solutions (TPS, New Columbia, Pennsyl- vania) has acquired Baker Furnace (Yorba Linda, California). The acquisi- tion will establish TPS's presence on the West Coast and enable the group to better serve customers in the sur- rounding areas. The company says the acquisition will also provide Baker Furnace with resources and the oppor- tunity to expand its operations. Osborn (Richmond, Indiana) hired André Pelletier as its director of sales for its distribution division. Pelletier's responsibilities include managing Osborn's North American sales team in selling to commercial distribution. Osborn also hired Kevin Pearson as a sales manager for the Tennes- see, Mississippi and Alabama territo- ries. Pearson will be responsible for growing and servicing technical sales within his respective territories. Southern Aluminum Finishing Co. (SAF) hired Sam Heier as the SAF West general manager for the company's operations in Redding, California. Heier will oversee aluminum extrusion and sheet sales, anodizing and paint coating operations, fabrication ser- vices and SAF's West Coast sales team. Parker Trutec Inc.'s Urbana, Ohio, facility will construct a 57,000-square- foot building expansion with the ad- dition of a third electrocoating line to the coatings application facility, which is expected to launch mass produc- tion by the second quarter of 2017. The total project cost will exceed $8 million.
