Go-To Guy MacDermid Finalizes Enthone, OMG Purchase MacDermid parent Platform Specialty Products Corp. fnalized its purchase of Alent plc, the owners of Enthone. The closing of the transaction will prompt the launch of MacDermid Perfor- mance Solutions, a division of Platform that will combine the original MacDermid operations with businesses from Alent (Enthone and Alpha and their subsidiary company, Fernox), along with the recently acquired OM businesses. "We are excited to welcome Alent to the Platform fam- ily," says Scot Benson, president of Platform's Performance Applications segment. "This transaction propels us into a new chapter for the business. Alent's talent and resources will enhance our fexibility and expertise to develop new and improved products and capabilities. This acquisition will aug- ment our ability to support our customers through innovation and technical support." This transaction marks Platform's third acquisition within the Performance Applications operating segment afer its acquisitions of MacDermid in October 2013 and the electronic chemicals and photomasks businesses of OM Group Inc. in October 2015. MetoKote Acquires Malcolm Enamellers ACP Ltd. MetoKote Corp. in Lima, Ohio, acquired Malcolm Enamellers ACP Limited, a coating company in Wednesbury, United King- dom, in the Greater Birmingham area. Malcolm is a wholly owned subsidiary of MetoKote Corp., and will operate under the name Malcolm Enamellers ACP Limited. Malcolm houses two electrocoat lines that can process parts up to 10 f. and up to 1,100 lbs. and a dual purpose system provid- ing powder coat and wet paint capabilities. Malcolm is accred- ited to BS EN ISO 9001:2000 quality standards by BSI and has its own in-house testing laboratory. MetoKote has had a presence in the United Kingdom since 1997 when it purchased Pegasus Phosprime Limited in Daventry.
