Chemeon Marketing Chemicals Under Changed Name Company divested itself of former Metalast name. The company acquired all assets of Metalast International LLC in 2013 and changed its name to Chemeon in 2015. The new owners, Madylon and Dean Meiling, bought the company in receivership afer Metalast was ordered sold by a Nevada judge. The Meilings say they were just two of about 1,000 share- holders of Metalast who had contributed more than $95 million to the previous owner. Since early 2015, Chemeon has been working to distance itself from its former name, and to market its numerous products under the new corporate identity. Plating Columnist Art Kushner Retires Art Kushner is retiring as the electroplating expert for PF, a position held for almost two decades. His last column appears in this month's issue. "Art has solved thousands of our readers' perplexing plating problems over the years," says Editor Tim Pennington. "I know our readers will miss his insight, expertise and recollection of plating from a bygone era." The electroplating column will still appear each month, but several industry experts will now tackle reader ques- tions and provide timely topics on plating. Read more about Kushner and his many contributions to the industry in the edito- rial on p. 6 of this issue. Madylon Meiling, who serves as Chemeon's president, says that all QPD/QPL Mil-Spec product certifcations for their products remain intact and these products remain available for purchase via their corresponding National Stock Numbers. "Our products and services should be identi- fed as Chemeon products and services, rather than referring to them as Metalast," she says. "We will most prominently mark our products and services with the Chemeon name." Meiling also says that Chemeon is not associ- ated with David Semas, the owner of certain federal registrations in the Metalast mark. N E W S
