PosiTest ® Coating Thickness Gage for measuring non-magnetic coatings on steel CCAI Awards 2015 Scholarships For the past several years, CCAI has awarded scholarship money from the CCAI Matt Heuertz Scholarship Program to students at North Dakota State University who major in Coatings and Poly- meric Materials. This year, the national CCAI board expanded the program to include all students in programs (technical schools, high school seniors and college students) geared toward coat- ings and fnishing from around the country. The 2015 scholar- ship winners were announced at the recent CCAI 2015 Annual Meeting in Delray Beach, Florida. Each of the following students received a Matt Heuertz Scholarship of $1,500: Melissa White, University of Wisconsin Green Bay; Ryley Roeser, University of Wisconsin Eau Claire; and Mitchell Pagel, University of Minnesota. The Matt Heuertz Scholarship program is sustained by the National CCAI and donations from CCAI Chapters. The CCAI Wisconsin Chapter ofered additional scholarships for further educational support: General CCAI Chapter Awards of $1,500 each to Ryley Roeser, Chelsey Bock and Brent Grou- bert; The Bob New scholarship of $2,000 in memory of long- time industry professional and chapter ambassador to Emily Garczynski; The James Stefes Award of $1,500 to Austin Whea- ton; The David J. Wright Award of $1,500 to Marissa White; and The James F. Wright Award of $1,500 to Francis Roushar. CCAI will be accepting applications for its 2016 scholarships beginning in January. PPG Takes Styling Directions Surface Trend Presentation to Art, Design Schools PPG Industries' (Pittsburgh) industrial coatings business recently held its Styling Directions Surface Trend presentations at three top California art and design schools to present the latest color and design trends identifed in the Trendcast Styling Directions 2015 toolkit. The purpose of the presentations is to strengthen ties with students and infuential designers who will establish future color and design trends. Three multiday events, which each used music, movies, fashion and other cultural phenomena to illustrate color and design trends, took place at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, Domus Newschool of Architecture and Design in San Diego and the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. More than 200 students, in- structors and designers attended each event, representing consumer elec- tronics, appliance, apparel, industrial, graphic, interior and architecture and fashion and textiles design. The 2015 scholarship winners were announced at the recent CCAI 2015 Annual Meeting in Delray Beach, Florida. N E W S
