PRODUCTS FINISHING — pfonline.com 11 Top Shops Survey Opens in December Is your electroplating shop one of the best in North America? If so, PF is searching for the best-run and most customer-driven electroplating operations to join the ranks of other Top Shops. The annual PF benchmarking survey of electroplating operations begins at pfonline.com on Dec. 1, and data from the survey will be used to determine the 2016 Products Finishing Top Shops. Both job shops and captive shops should complete the survey, which asks questions about current fnishing technology, fnishing practices, business strategies and training. Shops should be prepared to provide statistical informa- tion such as capacity utilization, order lead times, rework percentages, capital equipment expenditure, sales compared to fnishing lines and other data. All shops completing the survey will receive a comprehensive benchmarking report that they can use to compare their numbers with others in the industry, including the Top Shops, which represent the top 20 percent of responses. This is the second year that PF will be conducting the electroplating bench- marking survey. The magazine will also conduct a liquid and powder coating survey begining next summer. Award winners will be featured in the April issue of Products Finishing.
