CCAI's 2015 Annual Meeting Scores Another Victory The Powder Coating Institute hired Goyer Management International to provide complete management services of the association beginning July 1, following the retirement of Executive Director Dave Lurie. Trena Benson succeeds Lurie as the new executive director of PCI and will manage all aspects of PCI from membership recruitment and retention, to educa- tional programming, the development and implementation of a revised strategic plan, products and services and more. Gema USA will host PCI's Powder Coating 202: Optimizing Your Powder Operation With Lab, Sep. 29–30 at its facility In June,CCAI members traveled to Delray Beach, Florida for the CCAI Annual Meeting at the Seagate Hotel and Spa. Conor Cunneen presented his keynote, Gift of GAB: Goals, Attitude and Behavior to Drive Success, and members attended the Annual Awards Luncheon and the CCAI Beach Olympics, complete with sand volleyball, shell darts, the beach attire relay and gold medal winners. CCAI is also offering a 30 percent discount on all CCAI Finishing Conference Sessions at Fabtech 2015 in November. Industry experts conduct 50 hours of educational programming that focus on the industrial finishing industry with sessions that range from beginner to advanced levels. Focuses include the basics of powder coating, pretreatment, electrocoating, liquid coating methods, trouble- shooting, racking, plating, curing, innovations and more. The FabTech Exhibition and Conference Program will take place November 9–12 in Chicago. CCAI is also forming new chapters throughout the country to accommodate the demand for grass roots education. The chapters provide educational opportunities to finishers at the local and regional levels and host a wide array of meetings, plant tours and seminars. The CCAI Powder Coating and Curing Processes Seminar at the Alabama Power TAC from Oct. 11–12. This two-day includes classroom instruction on the powder coating process including curing technologies as well as live demonstrations. Co-sponsored by CCAI, the Infrared Heating Equipment Division of IHEA and Products Finishing, this seminar includes a copy of CCAI's Powder Coating for Industrial Finishing Applications manual and the IRED Infrared Process Heating handbook. This two-day, hands-on workshop focuses on the powder coating process, including material selection, surface preparation, system operation and more. Attendees will receive hands-on experience in manual and automatic powder application, maintenance and troubleshooting with instruction from qualified experts. The workshop fee includes a copy of the PCI Powder Coating Finisher's Handbook, break- fast and lunch, a networking reception and a certificate of completion. Registration is $495 for PCI members and $595 for nonmembers. PCI will also host two more powder coating events: The Powder Coating Symposium and Powder Coating 2016. The Powder Coating Symposium will be held Oct. 13–14 at the Westin Columbus in Columbus, Ohio. Attendees will learn about emerging powder technology and the research that drives these advancements. The symposium includes presentations from research experts on the latest technolo- gies and a networking event with table top exhibits.
