For more than 60 years, Metalak has been the exclusive distributor of Axalta's Spies Hecker refnish coating products sold in the Netherlands and in Flanders, Belgium. Formerly a privately owned company, Metalak will continue to operate under the Metalak name. BASF Corp.'s (Florham Park, New Jersey) XSpark coatings division developed a color efect that was honored with the pres- tigious Red Dot Award for Product Design, making BASF the frst OEM automotive paint supplier to win the award. Enthone (West Haven, Connecticut) published its Wear Resistant Coatings Product Selection Guide, which provides an overview of Enthone technologies, including hard chrome systems, electro- less nickel processes, process monitoring and electroless nickel and hard chrome equipment systems. MacDermid has appointed Carlos Martinez Tello as country manager for MacDermid Mexico. With 22 years experience, Carlos has vast experience in automotive and general industries related to fxation and assembly elements, power transmission products, material handling and industrial forged tools. MacDermid also promoted Glen Breault as global OEM manager. Breault has more than 20 years of experience in the automotive industry. Nordson Corp. (Westlake, Ohio), a leading supplier of precision powder application technologies, has announced the addition of Mark Folcik to its Industrial Coating Systems Group as a powder systems specialist. Folcik will serve Nordson customers in the panhandle of Florida, as well as Georgia, Mississippi, eastern Tennessee and Alabama. Osborn (Burgwald, Germany) moved its North American head- quarters to Richmond, Indiana. At its new headquarters, Osborn says it expects to create more than 30 new jobs. Along with its current 180,000-square-foot Richmond facility, Osborn plans to construct a 7,400-square-foot addition in late 2015. In related news, the company has hired Brian S. Smith as its marketing manager in its new North American headquarters and has hired Jon-Michael Raymond as private brand national account manager in Cleveland. PPG Industries (Pittsburgh) hired Michael McGarry as presi- dent and CEO, succeeding Charles Bunch. McGarry will join the company's board of directors immediately.
