"This is the right place for finishing to be," said Greg Taylor of Gema. More than 4,000 attendees visited the show floor at the Toronto Congress Centre, where more than 20 companies displayed finishing-related products and services, including CCAI Corporate members Nordson, Global Finishing, Therma-Tron-X, Exel NA, Finishing Brands and Vulcan Catalytic. Additionally, CCAI offered educational sessions on cleaning and pretreatment and electrocoating. "We were very happy with our first-time experience in Canada," noted CCAI Executive Director Anne Goyer. "There is a lot of opportunity in this area for finishing education and training, and our members that participated were pleased with the results. We look forward to growing the Finishing Pavilion at Fabtech Canada 2016 with all our exhibitors located in the same area of the show floor." Those interested in exhibiting at the 2016 show should contact Andy Goyer at 941-373-1830 or andy@goyermgt.com . On-Line Education Available Education and training are core to CCAI's mission. Finishers from around the globe can now access 20 online educational presentations by CCAI members and industry experts on CCAI TV via our website, ccaiweb.com . Video access requires a small fee, although there are discounts for accessing multiple videos and discounts to CCAI members. CCAI plans to continue adding content throughout 2014, so be sure to visit often for new information. Atlanta Finishing Pavilion Setting Records With nearly 6 months to go before Fabtech opens its doors in Atlanta, CCAI's Finishing Pavilion is once again setting records. More exhibitors have signed up earlier and reserved more exhibit space than at any previous Fabtech. "Finishers will see more companies providing finishing products and services in Atlanta than anywhere else this year," says the CCAI executive director. Call Andy Goyer at 941-373-1830 for space availability. Chapter Golf Outings & Annual Meeting Many CCAI chapters hold annual golf outings throughout the summer. "We have had many successful conferences in Orlando and this one was no exception," said Karen McGlothlin, executive director of The Electrocoat Association and ECOAT14 conference manager. "The keynotes spoke on very relevant topics for our industry, followed up by other great programming sessions and lots of fun in other associated events." Maureen Midgley, Henkel Corp., launched the event with her dynamic keynote address, "The Chemical Industry's Response to Trends and Innovations in the Transportation Industry." This session was followed by an entertaining presentation on "Marketing for Ecoaters" by Matt Kirchner, American Finishing Resources. The next day's thought-provoking keynote was by Ford Motor Co.'s Joy Forsmark, who addressed "Adventures in Incorporating Light Metals in Vehicles—a USCAR/ USAMP Story." This was followed by "The Impact of REACH Legislation on Electrocoat" by Axel Linnewerth, PPG Industrial Coatings, and later "The Pillars of Social Media Success" by Chuck Gault, Max Coatings.
