There are not too many office parks and high-rises built
along highways in the Southern U.S. that Penn McClatchey
can drive past and say his company didn't have a hand in
their construction.
As co-CEOs of SAF Southern Aluminum Finishing Co.
in Atlanta, McClatchey and his brother James are seeing
continued expansion of the use of aluminum anodized materials in architectural construction here in the U.S., as well as
overseas.
"There are major projects all over the country that we are
very proud to have had a hand in building," Penn McClatchey
says. "Construction is a cyclical business, and we feel we are at a
good place in that cycle right now."
The feeling is so good at SAF, that the company—founded
in 1946 by the McClatcheys' late father, Marvin—recently
expanded to a third anodizing facility, this one in Redding, Calif.
