NE W P RO DU C TS Compressed Air Filters Remove Contaminants Cross, Square Pads Made of Multi-Layer Strips Walmec North America offers compressed air filters that can remove liquid, oil, moisture and contaminates down to 5 microns, as well as oil and vapor removal filters with ratings of 0.01 micron. Both types of filters are designed to work most effectively when installed at or near the point of use. A 5-micron, two-stage filtration system is available with flow ranges of 15 to 250 scfm and pressure ratings of up to 250 psi. The first-stage filter removes all liquids and particles of dirt, dust, rust and scale, and the second-stage filter removes remaining moisture, contaminants and particles down to 5 microns. An automatic float drain under the second-stage filter opens and expels all collected liquids when an ounce or more is present. The system is fully automatic with no continuous air loss. The 0.01-micron SuperStar filter is a four-stage filtration system that is available with flow ranges of 50, 75 or 100 scfm and pressure ratings of up to 250 psi. It uses the same first- and second-stage filters to remove the contaminants down to 5 microns. Then its third- and fourth-stage filters remove any remaining particles down to 0.01 microns and absorb any remaining vapors. The filters are suited for a variety of applications, including surface preparation, paint spraying, powder coating, air-powered tools and pneumatically operated equipment. Klingspor Abrasives has introduced a line of aluminum oxide, resin-bonded cross pads and square pads that are constructed of multi-layered strips secured in the center with a threaded metal grommet. The cross pads are suited for such applications as deburring, polishing and blending radii of aircraft tubing; deburring the backside of blind holes such as complex welds; polishing the close-tolerance, small radii and channels of turbine structures; and deburring edges and following the contour of hard-to-reach, low-lying areas of soft-metal. The aerosol can is fastened upside down to the top of the lightweight, 10-inch-wide washer, and the cleaning process begins when the FastTrack's nozzle is pushed up with the paint gun. The cleaner is then released down into the gun's paint channel to clean the inside of the gun. The outside tip of the gun can be cleaned with the attached brush. Herkules Sparkle Clean Blast contains the same low-VOC cleaning formula as Herkules Sparkle Clean aerosol cleaner and is effective for cleaning both waterborne and solvent paint.
