pfonline.com/products/new NOx Control Solution Improves Wet Scrubbing Operations BioNOxSolver from Bionomic Industries is a low-toxicity nitrogen oxide control chemistry suited for a range of scrubber system operations and applications. Unlike typical NOx sulfide/caustic control chemistry, this formulation will not liberate flammable and dangerous hydrogen sulfide gas at pH-use conditions, the company says, and its powerful nitrogen dioxide reducing agents can achieve greater removal efficiency with a simple addition to caustic. Typical applications include removal of nitrogen dioxide emissions from catalyst calcining and preparation, precious metals dissolving, acid dipping and pickling of metals, silicon wafer and circuit board etching, nitrite and nitrate chemical production, medicinal production, nitric acid storage and purging, and nitrogen dioxide removal. Surface Treatments Provide Wear Resistance on Complex Components UltraFlex wear-resistant surface treatments from Kennametal are designed to provide longer and more predictable service life for components with complex geometries in demanding environments such as power generation, oil and gas, and other industries. The products provide metallurgical-bonded, void-free cladding and are formulated to protect against abrasive, erosive, corrosive and galling wear on base materials such as carbon and alloy steels, stainless steels, and cobalt and nickel alloys. According to the company, UltraFlex easily conforms to intricate shapes and small internal diameters, and reaches remote locations that hard-facing technologies cannot. And because the wear system metallurgically bonds directly to the substrate, it provides a surface with consistent thickness and minimal dilution. Surface treatment can be applied in thicknesses ranging from about 0.254 to 2.03 mm (0.010 to 0.080 inches). Depending on the application, it can be used "as applied" or be machined to the desired finish. Kennametal Extrude Hone, call 800-367-1109 or visit extrudehone.com. System Recycles Industrial Indoor Air DuroAir Technologies' air containment and filtering systems are designed to capture and clean contaminated industrial indoor air and return it safely to the indoor working environment. The systems combine the company's patented tapered airflow and DuroPure indoor air recycling technologies with a retractable DuroRoom enclosure system, eliminating exhausting of polluted air into the exterior environment. This also eliminates the costs associated with make-up air, and reduces or eliminates the permitting process related to exhaust air units, the company says. A DuroRoom enclosure also can be matched with the company's more conventional DuroCap filtration system to capture virtually all contaminants and particulates before exhausting cleaned air outdoors in an environmentally compliant manner. DuroRoom enclosures do not permanently take up indoor space and can accommodate the use of overhead cranes to move large or heavy objects. Due to their modular design, they can be manufactured to virtually any size. The DuroAir systems are suitable for a variety of applications including clean rooms, dust rooms, weld rooms and paint booths in industries such as aerospace, military, pharmaceutical and food preparation. Coating System Improves Operating Efficiency Dörken's Delta-Protekt KL 105 anti-corrosion coating also features an integrated lubricant designed to decrease the coefficient of friction, offering a two-in-one approach to coating fasteners such as nuts, bolts and screws. The coating is applied using a dip spin, dip coat, spray immerse or spin coat process and dries at a temperatures between 190 and 235°C, with no need for further processing. According to the company, Delta-Protekt has achieved more than 1,000 hrs without rust in salt spray testing and has a coating thickness between 8-10 µm. The coefficient of friction has achieved a mean value of 0.15 µtot, depending on the coating. Dörken Corp. USA, call 517-522-4600 or visit doerken-mks.de. pfonline.com 47
