new Executive service Keeps Members up to Date CCAI launches monthly economic report for corporate members. C CAI continually looks for ways to provide valuable tools to members that save them time and deliver benefits. The launch of its monthly Executive Economic Report is designed to do just that. This report provides updates on a variety of indices that impact manufacturing and finishing. Analysis is provided by CCAI economist Chris Kuehl. Member feedback has quickly shown the value: • "In recent years, CCAI has become a more valuable association to our business. FABTECH FAsT APProACHInG aNNe GOYer Executive Director, Chemical Coaters Association International, aygoyer@one.net Education and Training Are Key Goals for The PCI PCI boasts a full schedule with 18—yes 1 8—events this year. T he Powder Coating Institute, in conjunction with its Application & Recovery Equipment Committee, continues to dedicate itself to education and training of current and potential users of powder coating. Over the course of this year, PCI will conduct a total of 18 events all over the U.S. This yearÕs major event is the 2013 Powder Coating Show and Conference Oct. 8-10, in St. Louis. In addition to the 100 exhibitors, PCI will put on a technical conference with more than 48 hours of programming. This year for the first time, we also will offer several hours of sessions in Spanish. PCI also is hosting four hands-on ÒOptimizing Your Powder OperationÓ workshops, giving more-experienced users of powder coating the opportunity to experience spraying and curing parts as well as offering top-level lectures covering all major aspects of powder coating. For the beginner or someone who needs a refresher course, PCI also sponsors ÒPowder Coating 101Ó in different locations around the U.S. The 1.5-day course already has been held in Dallas, Houston and Minneapolis, and will be held in Sacramento and Jacksonville later this year. For custom coaters, PCI will host the Custom Coater Summit in Las Vegas to give its members a chance to learn about running the best powder coating operation. For all PCI members, the Annual Meeting will be held over 2.5 days in Sonoma, Calif. Top-level consultants and industry experts will speak about the challenges and growth opportunities for suppliers and equipment manufacturers who serve this industry. In addition, PCI is holding five webinarsÑusually in a one-hour formatÑcovering a range of topics, including masking, racking, super durables, pretreatment, ovens and coating measurement. We also are partnering with the Powder Coating Research Group for the Powder Coating Summit, a technical symposium to be held June 18-19 in Columbus, Ohio.
