KaREn McGlOTHlin Executive Director, The Electrocoat Association, karen.mcglothlin@electrocoat.org Welcome to the World of Aluminum Anodizing Anodizing technology takes center stage at conference and exposition. T he Aluminum Anodizers Council (AAC) is a very welcoming group. I have discovered this firsthand during these first few months as Council president. It is also evident by the thousands of requests and questions received each year via the AAC website, anodizing.org. If you have something to ask about anodized aluminum, please send us a note by selecting the "Contact AAC" button at the bottom of the home page. While you're online, please visit the Education & Conferences pages. They include information about the 22nd Annual International Anodizing Conference & Exposition, Oct. 1-3, in Seattle, Wash. This will be AAC's biggest conference of the year. It is built to offer a variety of opportunities for education, technical exchange and networking. Members and non-members alike are welcome. Topics to be covered in October run the gamut of anodizing technology—everything from how color finishes of anodized aluminum medical devices withstand multiple sterilization treatments to the use of anodize in sport devices. There will be a featured track of sessions on anodizing for aerospace applications, complimented by a behind-the-scenes tour of the nearby Boeing facility. In addition, there are two General Sessions, an afternoon of breakout sessions, an optional workshop on Anodizing Quality, an Anodizing Exposition and poster sessions featuring students from around the world. The Anodizing Conference, open to all, will be educational and fun. For more information, see anodizing.org. Rand a. Baldwin CaE President, Aluminum Anodizers Council, rbaldwin@tso.net 44 JUNE 2013
