Grieve Corp.���s No. 876 is a 500��F gas-heated belt conveyor oven
designed for drying brass and aluminum parts. Workspace dimensions
measure 22 �� 126 �� 15 inches, and the workload rides through an 18-inch
open-belt loading zone, 126-inch insulated heat zone with recirculated
airflow, 6-inch open zone, 72-inch cooling zone and a 12-inch open
unloading zone. The workspace is heated by 350,000-Btu/hr installed in
a modulating natural gas burner, while a 3,000-cfm, 2-hp recirculating
blower furnishes vertical downward airflow to the workload. The oven
features an aluminized steel interior and exterior, 4-inch-thick insulated
walls and two 12-inch diameter tubeaxial fans. A side oven door provides
access to the heat chamber.
The oven includes a 16-inch B36-24-14 conveyor belt with 3-inch-high
flex plate edges driven by a 1/3-hp motor with variable speed from 1.3 to
26 ft/min. It also features a 325-cfm, 1/3-hp powered forced exhauster.
